Dads are always embarrassing. Not just during those difficult teenage years, either. It carries on into adulthood. Well, he’s finished raising you so what else is there to do but be as embarrassing as possible?
It gets worse when you’re in an enclosed space with dad – like a car – without mum, otherwise known as ‘the buffer’. In a car there’s just no getting away from his deeply inappropriate, intensely embarrassing ‘conversation’. Unless you’re prepared to tuck ‘n’ roll out of a moving vehicle. Which I have contemplated on occasion.
