Back in 1973, a young Doug Hill applied for an apprenticeship in the workshop of the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu. With the restoration of a 1939 Morgan already under his belt, Doug was a shoe-in to get the place.
He rose up through the ranks and became Chief Engineer in 1989 and Museum Director in 1991. For a dyed-in-the-wool petrolhead with a passion for motoring history, Doug might just have the best job in the world.
Tim BC met Doug to talk about his life at the museum, how things have changed and how they will change in future.
