The V8 Milk float

You don’t see them any more, but back in the day, every British street would be visited by a milk float first thing in the morning. The whir of their electric motors was an integral element of the dawn chorus.

Sure, they got in everyone’s way as they bumbled along at 10mph, stopping every 20 yards. But the friendly milkman was usually whistling a happy tune as he did his rounds, so no-one minded.

We went to see a milk float that has come a long way from its humdrum, if honourable, origins. There’s no other way of putting it: its got a V8 engine.

That’s right, this is a V8 milk float. It’s bonkers. It’s brilliant. And Tall Tim went for a ride.
